Dialogue of Civilizations:
Issues & Agendas

Ever since the 'clash of civilizations' theory was suggested by Harvard professor Samuel Huntington before a decade, scholars and analysts across the globe responded to it in an unprecedented manner, and have exposed its flaws. Some analysts, going even one step further, also indicated the political agenda of the people who advocate such an ill-advised policy. The agenda, as many of the analysts have already pointed out, was/is to mobilize the Western world against the growing revivalist strength of Islam.

"The 'clash of civilizations' via a global war can only mean the destruction of the entire human civilization and not the promotion of one culture over another. The only alternative available to mankind is dialogue in a framework of contact, communication and the free exchange  of ideas. It is only through search, debate and dialogue that different moral, social and  cultural alternatives can be presented in the world of today and appropriate choices made."

Meeting of Civilization: From Clash to Communication

Human history is replete with disasters brought about by attitudes of arrogance and superiority complex based on race, color, language, religious affiliation, materialistic development and a host of other elements.

Written by Abu Muhammad Asad, Ph.D.

Dialogue Among Civilizations

Most Americans, including many Christian clergy, are misinformed about Islam. They believe that Muslims condone terrorism and abuse of women, oppose democracy, and worship a strange, vengeful God.

Written by Paul Findley

Dialogue, Understanding & Cooperation

With much talk of a conflict brewing between Islamic and Western civilization, it is essential that we critically examine the present situation and find solution to its peaceful resolution before it gets exacerbated beyond any relief.

Written by Siraj Islam Mufti, Ph.D.

Is There Anti-Semitism in The Qur'an?

The Qur'an does not allow hate against any race, nationality or color. As with all scriptures, passages in the Qur'an must be read within the proper context. The Qur'an was not just revealed for Muslims, but for all people, including Jews and Christians.

Written by Muzammil H. Siddiqi, Ph.D.

Muslim-Christian Dialogue

For the Muslims, constructive dialogue is not only permitted, it is commendable. The methodology of that dialogue is also explained in the Qur'an; "Invite (all) to the way of your Lord with wisdom and beautiful exhortation, and argue with them in ways that are best."

Written by Jamal Badawi, Ph.D.

LIGHT OF ISLAM

Studies Show Fajr Prayer is Healthy

"And He it is Who made the night a covering for you, and the sleep a rest, and He made the day to rise up again" (Qur'an 25:47)

YOUTH

Growing Up in Two Cultures

Home is not home, unless people who understand us surround us. I had this realization when my family decided to move to the United States from Pakistan.
